Join our offer-holder Unibuddy Community, to chat to other incoming students from your course, find others who share similar interests, and get to know Marjon! Make connections before you join Marjon, get questions answered by current students and staff, and get ready for university life.

When you join our Unibuddy Community, you'll see that we have a range of public groups that you are able to join. These groups range from general groups, such as one for all undergraduate offer-holders, or one for those planning to live on campus, to more specific, course-focused groups.

Why should I join?

Unibuddy Community is the best place to connect with other Marjon offer-holders - people that are in the same position as you!

By joining Community, you'll be able to:

  • connect with other Marjon offer-holders, including those on your course and with similar interests to you
  • create your own groups to find like-minded offer-holders before you join
  • get your questions answered by speaking to our Student Ambassadors and staff
  • stay informed about opportunities ahead of joining us

Join the Unibuddy Community today and start chatting to other future Marjon students!

How does it work?

When you join the Community, you'll see three main options - Inbox, Explore, Updates. Your Inbox will start to get busy when you start joining groups, and it will show you the chat for each group you've joined. You can use Explore to find all of the groups that you are able to join - there are quite a few, so take a look through! Updates is where Marjon staff and Student Ambassadors will post key information.

You can access Unibuddy Community through your browser, or download the Community app. We recommend downloading the app for the simplest way of accessing the platform and keeping up to date with any chats you're involved in. Join your Community here.

If you have any difficulties, please contact visitus@marjon.ac.uk and we'll be happy to help.

Can I create a group?

You are more than welcome to create a group on Community. You can create a public group, which other members will be able to join. If you have any issues setting up a group, please message an admin or Student Ambassador, who will be able to help.

You can also create private group chats, where you can speak directly to other members. Please keep in mind that university staff will not be able to see the details of these conversations, so think carefully when setting up private chats. If you are concerned about anything happening in a private chat, please email unibuddy@marjon.ac.uk

Is the group moderated?

The group will be moderated by current Marjon Student Ambassadors, as well as staff. Messages that are deemed inappropriate will be deleted, and members who continue to post inappropriate content will be removed from the platform.

This is done to ensure the safety of all members of our Unibuddy Community and to make sure everyone can enjoy being part of the Community. If you have any concerns about content on the platform, please email unibuddy@marjon.ac.uk and we'll be happy to help.

Are there rules on Community?

At Marjon, we have strong values, and we hope that all of our offer-holders do too. We want everyone in our Community to be kind and respectful to one another, and be considerate others feelings and views.

Members who post inappropriate messages will be removed from the platform. We also want our members to respect each others privacy. Remember that any personal information you post in the Community will likely be seen by others.

Please be respectful and avoid self-promotion in the group. If you spam the chat with inappropriate or irrelevant links, this may result in you being removed from the Community. We recommend that conversations stay on Community, but we understand our offer-holders will use a range of social media and chat platforms.

If you take conversations away from Community, please continue to be respectful, kind, and follow the rules of the platform in use. If you have concerns, please email unibuddy@marjon.ac.uk
