You will join a small group of students for an introduction to support available to you whilst you are at University and to begin to find your way around. The day will entail:-
- A meet and greet with some key staff in the University who can support your transition to University life (from the wellbeing, disability, Chaplaincy and accommodation teams)
- An opportunity to have a confidential (1:1) appointment with any of our team including one of our Disability Advisers to check you have the right support in place when you begin your course
- A social meet up with your Student Representatives (Marjon Student Union) to chat through student societies and social life on and off campus
- A friendly informal tour around the quiet and relaxing spots on campus you may wish to visit in your downtime
- An early introduction to learning and teaching campus spaces - tour of the spaces you are going to be learning in
- A 'beat the rush' early move in on Thursday 19th September if you are staying on campus so you can settle into your room
- An opportunity to meet a few other students in the same position as yourself
Who is the Transition to University day for?
If you are a student moving from school, college or University where you had SEN support for an autism spectrum disorder or you have complex disability needs then this could be for you!
This sounds like it is for me, how do I sign up?
