Role Summary

This project focuses on exploring and defining the concept of Adventure Monuments. In my work, the concept refers to places of historical and political significance that are experienced through adventure practice. By focusing on a case study exemplifying this phenomenon (the Trampolino of Rhodes) I aim to better understand how local - usually neglected in academic circles - forms of adventure bear cultural and political significance for the communities that practice them. This research feeds into more sustainable models of tourism and urban development, as well as an outdoor adventure education field that is more attentive to localities.
