Marjon Health and Wellbeing is based at Marjon Sport and Health Centre, a friendly space which is open to the public. It is wheelchair accessible and on-site parking is available to users.
The Grandstand Café, a popular social space, offers hot and cold meals and snacks within the centre.
The gym is equipped with the latest cardiovascular and resistance machines including the stair master, curve treadmills, and watt bikes. There is also a dedicated space for specialised exercises including boxing, functional training, and mobilisation. The gym has ample room for groups of people to explore and learn.
Our sports science lab encompasses biomechanics and physiology laboratories as well as a strength and conditioning lab. It is home to a range of highly advanced equipment for health and exercise research and we regularly conduct research and clinical assessments within the labs.
Our Physiology Lab is accredited by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES). This means it has passed a rigorous quality assurance process that confirms it’s appropriateness for the conducting of physiological testing. This is the only BASES accredited lab in the South West.
The innovative anti-gravity treadmill reduces the impact of gravity. It enables the patient to train at anywhere between 20% and 100% of the body weight and so accelerates recovery times.
A 25m swimming pool is available within Marjon Sport and Health Centre with access equipment available for swimmers with reduced mobility.
Sports halls, a gymnasium and an all-weather outdoor pitch are available.
