University Proud of Ben

University of St Mark & St John Elite Sport Scholar and top international swimmer Ben Proud will represent England at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow from July 23-August 3.

Ben recently added the British long course 50 metre freestyle record to his British long course butterfly 50m record.

His club and national coach, Jon Rudd – who studied at the university and is an honorary graduate - said: “The University of St Mark & St John is strongly committed to supporting and helping talented swimmers with one of the most comprehensive and innovative scholarship schemes in the world of elite swimming.”

Plymouth Leander head coach Jon will lead England’s Commonwealth Games swim team this summer.
