Plymouth Marjon University has received an overall rating of 100% in the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey 2022; a review which this year surveyed around 14,000 PhD and research students across 62 institutions.
Marjon achieved 100% in the supervision and satisfaction categories of the survey. Research students rated the university PhD experience at an overall 100%, putting Marjon in the top quarter of institutions.
The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey is used by institutions and students to understand specific areas of strength for postgraduate research provision and how well students are supported.
Professor Rob Warner, Vice-Chancellor of Plymouth Marjon University, said “We are so proud of our supervisors and research teams. They have created an incredibly supportive and fulfilling experience for our PhD students, which really reflects the student-focused community at Marjon.”
Marjon achieved 100% in all areas of the supervision category where students agreed that supervisors were helpful in all areas of research skills; communication; feedback, and training. 100% of PhD students agreed that they access specialist equipment and facilities on campus, and 92% of PhD students felt their health and wellbeing needs were met.
The news that Marjon’s research students score the University highly reflects surveys of undergraduate students. Marjon is currently ranked first in England for Student Satisfaction (Complete University Guide 2022) and first in England for Teaching Quality (Good University Guide 2021). In May, Marjon scored highly in the Research Excellence Framework 2021 results, with 89% of its research internationally recognised in terms of originality, significance, and rigour.
Plymouth Marjon University runs a variety of Master’s courses and PhD opportunities each year in part-time or full-time capacities. If you are a graduate looking for your next step in studying and research, see what Marjon can offer you.
