Marjon graduate celebrating their success

Plymouth Marjon University has been ranked as one of the top 10 institutions in the nation in the 2025 Complete University Guide (CUG). Marjon has been ranked in the top 3 in England for Student Satisfaction, marking the fourth consecutive year the University has secured a place within the country's top 5 for this category.

Every year the Complete University Guide releases UK university and subject league tables to support prospective students in making informed decisions about their future. Regional league tables are also on offer to help people find the right university for them in their area. Approximately 130 institutions are included in the rankings.

Plymouth Marjon demonstrated outstanding performance in various CUG subject categories, securing top 3 rankings for Speech and Language Therapy Student Satisfaction and top 4 for Education Student Satisfaction. Additionally, Marjon placed in the top 6 in England for Complementary Medicine, following the recent introduction of a range of new health-related courses, including nursing and assistant practitioner programmes.

Professor Claire Taylor, Vice-Chancellor at Plymouth Marjon University, stated:

"We are immensely proud of our continued recognition among the nation's top institutions. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our staff and students in our supportive and innovative learning environment."

Professor Amanda Chetwynd, Chair of the Complete University Guide Advisory Board, said:

"Our methodology, rooted in independent measures, reflects vital aspects cherished by students, such as post-graduation job prospects, ratio of staff to students and the quality of the teaching.

The competitive landscape within the top 20 underscores the exceptional standards upheld by UK universities."

The University was also rated top 5 in the UK and no.1 in the South West for Career Prospects, top 7 for Lecturers and Teaching Quality, and top 9 for Student Support at the 2024 WhatUni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs).

The annual WUSCAs are the largest student-decided ranking in the UK collecting more than 35,000 verified student reviews from over 100 institutions which tally up ratings across 11 different categories.

These achievements follow Plymouth Marjon University’s award of Gold in the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). The TEF, a national scheme operated by the Office for Students, aims to promote excellence in the areas students prioritise the most: teaching quality, learning experiences, and positive educational outcomes.

In granting Marjon the Gold award, the TEF panel highlighted Plymouth Marjon University's steadfast dedication to providing high-quality teaching, fostering exceptional learning experiences, and consistently exceeding the rigorous national standards set for higher education institutions in the UK.

Plymouth Marjon University remains committed to delivering excellence and innovation in higher education, continually enhancing opportunities for its students and maintaining its status as a leader in student satisfaction and teaching quality.
