'Science vs Reality: How to Support a Champion' is the title of a public talk given by the English Institute of Sport this week.
The Faculty of Sport & Health Sciences welcomes Dr Steve Ingham, Director of Science and Technical Development at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) to the University of St Mark & St John on Thursday 14 January from 10:30 until 11.30am in the library lecture theatre.
Dr Ingham has worked as an applied Sports Physiologist since 1996 and was previously employed at the British Olympic Medical Institute. He joined the EIS in 2005 where he has worked with over 40 Olympic and World medallists across a range of sports such as athletics, rowing and bobsleigh.
He leads the team of physiologists that work with the ‘sports that hurt’ and is an expert on training diagnostics, recovery and readiness to train (warming up) amongst other areas.
