Celebrating Cornwall's great teachers

Marjon was proud to sponsor Cornwall Teacher Awards 2017. The University commends all those who have dedicated their outstanding work to positively impact children and young people.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Rob Warner was delighted to present the award for Outstanding Headteacher of the Year to Joanna Harvey headteacher at St Dennis Academy. 

The judges concluded her the winner due to ‘her resilience and fundamental commitment to raising standards, building a team and ensuring there is fun and excitement in learning for all pupils.’

Organisers of the awards said: "We are delighted to once again have the support of Plymouth Marjon University. Marjon is renowned for its Teacher Education and many of last year's winners are alumni of the university."

Held at Truro Cathedral, winners, nominees and guests were treated to an evening of celebration in April.
