Whether you are a seasoned runner or a beginner this is an opportunity to meet like minded people, share tips and talk through any issues in an informal and friendly environment.
4 March 2024 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
This session will provide an overview of common running-related injuries and discuss some of the factors that may contribute to injury. Strategies to help reduce the risk of injury, and manage injuries, such as gait, exercise correction, warm-up, cool-down, and kinesiology taping will be presented.
11 March 2024 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
This workshop will guide you in monitoring your training load to avoid injury while optimising performance. Gain a clear understanding of training zones and how they connect to nutrition needs in both training and competition. Simplify your path to better running with essential insights.
18 March 2024 - 6:30pm to 7:30pm
This session will provide information on the menstrual cycle, and how you can use it to plan your training effectively.
N.B. Vicki is not a medical professional, so this will not go into medical problems associated with the menstrual cycle.
25 March 2024 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm
This session will focus on the mental side of running. It will give an overview of some psychological strategies, such as goal-setting, self-talk, and if-then planning, and provide information on how you can use these in preparation for the event and on race day itself.
